Individualized Major Programs Conference 2015

7th National Conference on Individualized Major Programs

University of Massachusetts Amherst
Amherst, MA
March 5-6, 2015

The University of Massachusetts is honored to host the 2015 National Conference for Individualized Major Programs. Individualized major programs (IMPs) are defined by their commitment to giving students support and responsibility for the design of their individualized majors. In many institutions, IMPs also offer support for interdisciplinary and integrative learning in the broader curriculum. This annual conference provides a space for those working and studying in IMPs to present original research, exchange questions and insights, discuss challenges faced, and brainstorm and workshop new ideas. It also provides the opportunity for those interested in IMPs to learn about the development of such programs or their relevance to other curricular objectives in higher education.

Call for Proposals!

We welcome submissions for presentations on any topic relating to IMPs, including individual papers, panel discussions, or group workshop activities. Panels may be organized and submitted by faculty, staff, students, or alumni.

The following panels have been suggested, and we invite you to submit proposals on these topics, or to suggest panels on other relevant subjects.

(1) developing a student community in a diverse major;
